Welcome
Federal Advocates, Inc. is an accomplished government relations firm bringing together long-standing Federal advocacy tenure, congressional committee professional staff experience, and a strong government relations management record. The combined experience of the Firm’s partners ensures professional representation and measurable results for clients before Congress and the Executive Branch in an increasingly competitive advocacy atmosphere. The Firm represents a number of entities including private business companies, municipalities, counties, museums, media organizations and academic institutions, and boasts a demonstrable record of success on their behalf. In addition, the Firm has an established record in supporting broad and complex public policy issues including aviation, highways, transit, rail, water resources, clean water, community and economic development, security, education, and urban matters in general.

Appropriations
The Firm has extensive experience and expertise in the annual Federal appropriations process. Advocacy competition for funds in annual appropriations bills has surged in recent years. Local governments have struggled even to maintain appropriations levels. Non-governmental entities, more and more, are seeking creative solutions to their funding needs. In FY 2009 Appropriations Bills, the Firm has been able to increase amounts for its clients in spite of increased advocacy competition in Washington by employing a strategy-driven approach, which emphasizes organization, coordination, and identification of measurable goals and timetables. In so doing, the Firm has developed key contacts with Members and staff in both Houses and in both parties. From education to transportation; from security to infrastructure; and much more, the Firm's appropriations challenges have been diverse and rewarding.

Policy Issues
In addition to appropriations, the legislative process also includes authorization bills and the congressional budget, both of which afford opportunities to influence and promote public policy issues. The Firm has demonstrated success in securing critical policy for its clients. SAFETEA-LU, the 2005 omnibus highway-transit law, is one example which the Firm played a key role in the implementation of numerous major new policy initiatives such as the new program for Projects of National and Regional Significance. Most recently, the Firm was successful in pursuing various public policy issues in the reauthorization of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 and is currently pursuing various issues in the reauthorization of AIR-21 and the Clean Water Act. Port security and water recycling are also issue areas the Firm is currently engaged in on behalf of its clients.
